Inspired by Mary Phinney von Olnhausen’s memoir, it centers on two volunteer nurses from opposite sides at Alexandria, Virginia’s Mansion House Hospital. The six-episode first season hit on-demand on January 14, 2016, then aired on PBS on January 17, 2016, drawing 3.3 million viewers. PBS renewed it for a second season, which premiered on January 22, 2017, before canceling the series on March 9, 2017.
