Cast and characters

Richard Armitage portrays Adam Price, the husband of Corinne Price and father to Thomas and Ryan. Adam is the first person approached by a mysterious woman in a baseball cap, who tells him that his wife faked a pregnancy. As the series progresses, she discovers connections between the stranger and other cases, eventually investigating Corinne's disappearance and the murder of Heidi Doyle. Jacob Dudman plays Thomas Price, the elder son of Adam and Corinne, who keeps a secret involving his friends Daisy Hoy and Mike Tripp; the three attempt to cover up their involvement as police investigate. Hannah John-Kamen portrays the Stranger, a woman in her 20s who wears a baseball cap and learns other people's secrets, then threatens to reveal them in exchange for money. She first speaks to Adam at a football club and later approaches other characters. Adam and DS Johanna Griffin both try to learn more about her. Anthony Head plays Edgar Price, Adam's father, a womanizing property developer with a strained relationship with his son. Dervla Kirwan plays Corinne Price, whose secret about faking a pregnancy is exposed by the Stranger, leading to her disappearance and becoming the central conflict of the series.
