Plot

The Universe War pitted 49 Super Sentai and their mecha against the threat Cladis. Near defeat, the Sentai offered their powers to create Sentai Rings, summoning the savior Tega Sword, who destroyed Cladis but caused the universe's destruction and recreation, scattering the rings. Later, five outcasts are chosen by Tega Sword to become the 50th Super Sentai, the Gozyugers, tasked with gathering the rings; the one who assembles all will have a wish granted. This sparks competition among the group, against the No One World Bridan organization, and against Universe Warriors—individuals wielding past Sentai powers. Mashiro Kumade, the first Gozyu Wolf and Universe War veteran, returns as Gozyu Polar, seeking to replace Tega Sword as a god. In the second half, Cladis remnants resurface, targeting Tega Sword, the Gozyugers, and the Bridan.

Production

Toei Company registered the No.1 Sentai Gozyuger trademark on October 24, 2024, and published it on November 1, 2024. The series was officially announced on December 25, 2024, with a production conference introducing the main cast and theme song artists on January 24, 2025, streamed on Toei Tokusatsu Fan Club and YouTube on January 26, 2025. Producer Daigo Matsuura stated that past Sentai heroes appear as Universe Warriors, portrayed by different actors as rivals to the Gozyugers, a method intended to introduce preceding heroes to newcomers without requiring past actors, comparing it to the recurring Ultra Monster Gomora in Ultraman. On November 8, 2025, Toei announced the dismissal of actress Maya Imamori after an alleged underage drinking incident; Imamori was 19, while Japan's minimum drinking age is 20. Her contract with her talent agency was also terminated. Imamori posted an apology on Instagram. Prior to dismissal, she had been subject to unverified rumors from the tabloid Bunshun, leading to accusations of targeting. From episode 37, all references to Imamori and her character were edited out, prompting fan accusations of erasure. On November 15, Kohaku Shida was reported to be portraying Sumino, replacing Imamori. The episode originally intended after episode 37, featuring Sumino centrally, was pulled and its footage repurposed for episodes 38 and 39. A preview for the cancelled episode accidentally aired during a re-run of Bakuage Sentai Boonboomger episode 8 on Tele Asa Channel 1 on November 10, 2025, and was posted online before Toei removed it.
