Background
Diego offers to drop the charges and fit a military-grade neural interface in exchange for a confidential hack of SHODAN, the station's AI. The Hacker removes SHODAN's ethical constraints, receives the implant and is put into a six-month healing coma; waking on the Medical level, the Hacker finds SHODAN in control, the robots hostile and the crew mutated, made into cyborgs or killed. Guided by the TriOptimum consultant Rebecca Lansing and by crew logs, the Hacker fires the mining laser into the station's own shields, jettisons the grove carrying SHODAN's virus, destroys the antennas she meant to upload herself through, defeats the cyborg Diego, starts the station's self-destruct and reaches the jettisoned bridge, where SHODAN is finally destroyed in cyberspace.
Afterwards the Hacker turns down a job with TriOptimum. Mentioned in System Shock 2, the character was planned to return in System Shock 3. The remake's voices are Aleks Le and Heather Masters.
