Rebecca Siddons

The Von Braun crew member and Tommy Suarez's fiancee who gets out in the last escape pod - and may not have got away from SHODAN.

Rebecca Siddons is a character in System Shock 2: a crew member of the Von Braun, most likely on its Operations crew, and the fiancee of Thomas Suarez. The pair are the ship's two survivors, last seen leaving in an escape pod from the Command Deck.

Background

Siddons and Suarez had been in touch for some time before things aboard the Von Braun went wrong, and shortly before the Many took the ship and the UNN Rickenbacker they met on the Von Braun and agreed to get off together if it came to that. On 11 July they made their move, but Siddons was caught on the Operations Deck by Sergeant Bronson's security team. She repaired the last unlaunched pod on the Command Deck and, separated from Suarez, was bitten and poisoned by an annelid arachnid on the Recreation Deck, where he reached her with the help of the Resistance there.

After the soldier beats the Many and SHODAN his hail reaches the pod, and Suarez turns back for the Von Braun, only to find that Siddons seems to have been taken over by SHODAN; what became of her is not known. Her audio logs are found on the Engineering, Operations and Recreation decks. She was due to return in System Shock 3 before that version of the game was cancelled.
