Beseech formed in Borås, Sweden, and released their first demo, A Lesser Kind of Evil, in 1992. The band's early lineup included vocalist Jörgen Sjöberg, who left and returned between 1998 and 2001. Their debut studio album, ...From a Bleeding Heart, was released in 1998, followed by Black Emotions in 2000. The band disbanded in 2006 after releasing Sunless Days in 2005.

At the end of 2013, Beseech re-formed with a different lineup, including vocalist Angelina Sahlgren Söder and guitarist Klas Bohlin. This iteration released My Darkness, Darkness in 2016. In 2024, the band re-formed again, bringing back vocal duo Erik Molarin and Lotta Havaas, along with Daniel Lindgren on bass and Jonas Strömberg on guitar, with new drummer Christian Silver. The band has since released new singles and videos, with a future album anticipated.
