The Militia's DNA is written in the tunnels of Bajor. Upon the Cardassian withdrawal in 2369, these disparate cells were stitched together into a unified command under the Bajoran Provisional Government, forcing insurgents to adapt to conventional warfare without losing their revolutionary fire. This duality was most visible during the joint administration of Deep Space Nine. When the Dominion War erupted in 2373, the Militia stood shoulder-to-shoulder with Federation allies, even as Bajor officially declared its neutrality. Many Bajorans joined Starfleet, and a new resistance formed to oppose the renewed occupation of Deep Space Nine, proving that the fighters who once hid in the dark could still hold the line against an empire.
