Background
According to the show, they were bored rich men until Oh Il-nam suggested the games as entertainment and an investment. For most of a tournament they deal with the Front Man by phone; on the island they wear golden masks shaped like animals and are served by masked staff. In the first season Hwang Jun-ho, disguised as one of the servants, ambushes a VIP in a private room and records his confession. In the third season they pose as soldiers to execute players and rule that Kim Jun-hee's baby counts as a player. Critics were mixed: some saw them as a metaphor for greed, while many criticised the English-speaking actors' wooden dialogue.
