Background
Sae-byeok once worked for the gangster Jang Deok-su before going her own way, and had picked Gi-hun's pocket before the games. Starting as a loner, she joins Gi-hun's team and forms a bond with Ji-yeong, who sacrifices herself for her in the marbles game. She crosses the glass bridge but is badly cut by flying glass, becomes one of the last three with Gi-hun and Cho Sang-woo, and asks Gi-hun to look after her family. Sang-woo stabs her before the final game. Gi-hun later leaves Cheol in the care of Sang-woo's mother. Jung Ho-yeon won the Screen Actors Guild Award for the role.
