Development
Bravely Archive: D's Journal was revealed in December 2014. It went live in Japan during January 2015 and remained active until its servers went dark on October 23, 2017. Much like the earlier spin-off Bravely Default: Praying Brage helped promote the first Bravely Default game, this title was created to support the Japanese launch of Bravely Second. No plans for an English version were announced while it ran in Japan. However, one year after its Japanese closure, the game suddenly appeared in English for North American players.
