Production and distribution
By March 2012, Entertainment Studios had licensed the show to stations reaching roughly 85% of American households, with affiliates including those owned by CBS Television Stations, Weigel Broadcasting, Sinclair Broadcast Group, Media General, Gray Television, LIN Media, Nexstar Media Group, and Meredith Corporation. The series was picked up for a second and third season on July 22, 2013. Bailiff Renard Spivey, a Harris County deputy, was taken into custody in Houston in 2019 on suspicion of murdering his wife; Cinder Eller-Kimbell took his place when filming resumed in 2021. A seven-season renewal announced in September 2020 will extend the program through its fifteenth season.
