Achernar
The hot blue star at the end of Eridanus.
Achernar is the brightest star in Eridanus and the ninth-brightest in the night sky, about 139 light-years away. It is the primary of a binary system.
It is a spectral type B star, the hottest and bluest of the ten brightest stars, and rotates so fast that it is flattened. Its name comes from Arabic for the end of the river.
