Vostok-K
Soviet carrier rocket that launched the first human into space.
The Vostok-K (8K72K) was an expendable carrier rocket of the Vostok family, used for thirteen launches between 1960 and 1964. It carried the first human spaceflight, Vostok 1, and all six crewed Vostok missions. Modifications to the core, strap-ons, and Blok E stage man-rated the vehicle.
