Arbroath Sporting Club
Scottish junior club from Arbroath, active 1960–2011.
Arbroath Sporting Club, commonly known as Arbroath SC, were a Scottish junior football club based in Arbroath. Formed in 1960 as Angus Social Club, they played at amateur and juvenile levels in the 1960s and early 1970s, with home games at the Low Common. They turned junior in 1973, changed their name to Arbroath Sporting Club, and moved to Seaton Park, their home ground where they played in black and blue stripes. Up until the end of the 2005–06 season, they competed in the Tayside Premier League of the Scottish Junior Football Association's Eastern Region.
After an SJFA restructure before the 2006–07 season, they joined the twelve-team East Region, North Division, finishing second in their first season. Their arch-rivals were Arbroath Victoria. The club played its final ever game on 22 May 2011, a 1–0 victory over Montrose Roselea. Due to a lack of committee members and financial pressures, it was announced at the SJFA's AGM that year that they had withdrawn as members.
