History

Formed in 1938, Beith Juniors succeeded the disbanded senior side Beith, which had previously competed in the Scottish Football League. The club plays in black and white strips and is nicknamed the Cabes or the Mighty. In their first season of 1939–40 they reached the District Cup Final and finished as runners up, after which the Second World War halted football. During the 1940s the club were mostly a mid table side and reached the Ayrshire Cup final in 1948–49, again finishing as runners up.

Cup success came in 1954–55 with the Ayrshire Cup, and they finished as league runners up that same season. Later in the decade they lost the District Cup in 1955–56 and the West of Scotland Cup in 1957–58, but won the West League Cup in 1956–57. The 1960s began with a District Cup win, followed by North Ayrshire league titles in 1962–63, 1963–64, 1964–65, 1966–67, and 1968–69, and the Ayrshire League was won in 1964–65 and 1968–69 via playoffs with the South Ayrshire champions.

Two West of Scotland Cups were won in 1965–66 and 1966–67 after being runners up in 1964–65. The club also undertook an unbeaten three-match tour of the Netherlands. The 1970s were relatively barren, with an Ayrshire Cup win in 1977–78 and runner up finishes in the Ayrshire League in 1978–79, the North Ayrshire League in 1969–70, 1974–75, and 1975–76, and in the District Cup in 1971–72, the Supplementary Cup in 1974–75, and the League Cup in 1979–80.

The club won the League Cup in 1981–82, then suffered relegation to the Ayrshire Second Division at the end of 1982–83. They won promotion back to the First Division as Second Division Champions in 1986–87, and ended as runners up in the Ayrshire Cup, Cunninghame Cup, and League Cup in 1987–88, becoming the nearly men. The 1990s saw Dennis Gray appointed manager, bringing seven trophy wins: back-to-back Ayrshire Cups in 1990–91 and 1991–92, District Cups in 1990–91 and 1994–95, League Cups in 1991–92 and 1993–94, and the Cunninghame Cup in 1992–93.

Gray also became Scotland Juniors manager during this time. After Gray left for Auchinleck Talbot, Dick Brock and then Frank Lynch took over. Lynch's teams were known for long Scottish Junior Cup runs, the furthest being a Quarter Final replay loss in extra time to eventual winners Arthurlie in 1997–98. The closest to trophy success was a League Cup final loss to Auchinleck Talbot in 1997–98.

After league reconstruction in 2000–01, Beith started 2001–02 in the Second Division. Brian Stevenson steered the club to a 3rd-place finish and qualification for the West of Scotland Super League 1st division after beating Dalry Thistle in a two-legged playoff. Dennis Gray returned for a second tenure, bringing another four trophies: back-to-back Ayrshire Cups in 2002–03 and 2003–04, the North Ayrshire Cup in 2003–04, and the League Cup in 2004–05.

There were two Scottish Cup quarter finals in this period, losing both times to the eventual runners up: Linlithgow Rose in 2002–03 and Bathgate in 2005–06. Frank Lynch returned as manager and got the club promoted to the Premier Division as runners up in the First Division in 2006–07. In 2008–09, under John Millar, the club won the West of Scotland Cup, beating Auchinleck Talbot 2–1 in the final at Pollok. In 2009–10 they won the West Premier title by a then record number of points, losing only one game, qualifying for the senior Scottish Cup.

In 2010–11, Beith entered the Scottish Cup, defeating Linlithgow Rose 2–0 and Glasgow University 8–1, before facing Airdrie United. They led 2–0 with ten minutes remaining before a red card and two late goals forced a replay, which they lost 4–3 at Bellsdale Park. After relegation in 2012–13, the club bounced back as runners up in the West of Scotland Super League first division in 2013–14. In 2015–16, Beith won the Scottish Junior Cup for the first time, defeating Pollok on penalties after a 1–1 draw.

In 2017–18, they won the West Region Premiership title, pipping Auchinleck Talbot by one point on the final day, and then won the Evening Times Champions Cup. In 2018–19, they faced Ayr United in the Scottish Cup, the first all-Ayrshire Junior and Senior Scottish Cup tie, losing 3–0. The club also won the West of Scotland Cup that season, beating Kirkintilloch Rob Roy in the final at Meadow Park. Under Chris Strain, Beith won back-to-back league titles in 2022–23 and 2023–24, but were ineligible for the Lowland Football League promotion play-offs as the club did not hold the required SFA Licence.
