Lore & Background

The game is set in a Persian Empire on the brink of collapse after over 30 years of drought, famine, and invasion by the Kushan Empire. Sargon, the youngest member of the Immortals, kills the Kushan general Uvishka. During victory celebrations, his mentor General Anahita kidnaps Prince Ghassan. Sargon and the Immortals pursue her to Mount Qaf, a citadel destroyed by an unknown curse. Sargon discovers that the Immortals' leader Vahram is the true culprit, kills the prince, and seeks to usurp the throne. Sargon gains time powers from the Simurgh's feathers and eventually travels back in time to thwart Vahram, learning that Vahram is the long-lost son of King Darius, whose assassination by Queen Thomyris caused Persia's decline.

In Their Own Story

The wind howls through the jagged peaks of Mount Qaf, carrying whispers of a forgotten war. Sargon grips his scimitar, his breath visible in the freezing air as he scales a crumbling ziggurat. Below, shadows coalesce into the form of Zahhak's minions, their eyes burning with malice. He does not fight for glory or a kingdom; he fights to seal a breach that threatens to swallow the world. With a leap defying gravity, he lands atop a floating shrine, the Lost Crown pulsing with an eerie light in his hand.

Reader's Guide

Players explore a 2.5D side-scrolling world, using Sargon's daggers, combos, aerial attacks, and parries (including vengeful counters) to defeat enemies. Unblockable attacks must be dodged. As the game progresses, players unlock bows, arrows, a chakram, and time powers such as air dashing, double jumping, grappling, Shadow of the Simurgh (temporary checkpoint), Dimensional Claw (capturing objects/enemies), and Clairvoyance (toggling platform states). These are used for puzzles and obstacles. The game features Metroidvania elements: interconnected locations, shortcuts, secret rooms, side quests, optional bosses, treasure chests, health upgrades, and amulets (up to 12 slots). Time crystals purchase upgrades. Wak-Wak trees serve as save/respawn points and restore health. Players can pin screenshots to the map. Two modes: Guided (quest markers) and Exploration (no markers). Accessibility options allow independent toggling of difficulty for exploration, platforming, and combat.
