Plot
In a futuristic time, an e-Pulse generated from human thoughts and emotions powers the AI support device Sapotama, developed by the World Union alongside arcologies called Shangri-La Eggs. From the shadows of Sapotama development, Digimon appear as digital lifeforms that evolve by consuming humans' e-Pulse and are eliminated by bounty-hunting Cleaners. Tomoro Tenma meets Gekkomon, who emerges from his Sapotama, and joins the Cleaner team Glowing Dawn, which protects Digimon. A cold heart occurs when a human's e-Pulse is drained, freezing their body, while a Black e-Pulse from erratic violent desires drives a Digimon into berserk Dark Digivolution.
