Production
O'Keefe began the project through a successful Kickstarter campaign in 2015, inspired by his Australian upbringing and love for Ozploitation film. Look Mom! Productions, a Blue Ant Studios company, later picked up the series, with Joshua Bowen serving as Executive Producer. Quibi commissioned the series in April 2020 before shutting down later that year; Roku acquired it in January 2021. The show was produced almost entirely during the COVID-19 pandemic, with Bowen noting that O'Keefe produced it from his mother's basement with her home-cooked meals.
