Overview
Each episode focuses on a family that has experienced recent or ongoing hardship, such as a natural disaster, a dilapidated house, or a life-threatening illness. The show's producers collaborate with a local construction contractor and various building-trade companies to renovate the family's home, including interior, exterior, and landscaping work, while the family is on a paid vacation. If the house is beyond repair, it is replaced entirely. The materials and labor are donated, and many volunteers assist in the rapid construction.
