Early life and career
Chen Yixin came into the world on 26 April 2000 as the daughter of actors Edmund Chen and Xiang Yun, with an older brother, Chen Xi, who also acts. She started appearing in commercials at six years old and found her passion for performance after taking up dance in secondary school. She studied applied drama and psychology at Singapore Polytechnic, finishing in 2020. Her first on-screen role was a cameo in the 2011 anthology film Echoing Love, which her father co-directed. She later appeared in the Mediacorp series Life Less Ordinary and While We Are Young, both from 2017. Beyond acting, she is a familiar face in fashion magazines and has been part of ad campaigns for brands like hello, Goldheart, and Orasyl, while also promoting Dior Beauty and Kiehl's on social media. She enjoys singing and regularly posts cover songs online. Her first lead role came in the 2021 series Teenage Textbook: The Series, where she starred alongside Xuan Ong, Chris Mak, and Gavin Teo. In 2022, she joined the Netflix series Mr. Midnight: Beware the Monsters, based on a Singaporean children's horror-mystery book series. The following year, she played a feisty and rebellious performer in the second season of Titoudao, acting opposite Chen Liping and Koe Yeet.
