Hell's Kitchen Thailand

Format

Hell's Kitchen Thailand is a reality cooking competition that uses continuous elimination to test contestants' cooking determination. Sixteen contestants compete to become head chef in a real restaurant. Heliconia H Group, producer of shows such as Iron Chef Thailand, MasterChef Thailand, The Next Iron Chef Thailand, Bid Coin Chef, and Top Chef Thailand, reached an agreement with ITV Studios to produce the Thai format from 2022. Unlike other versions, the show has four head chefs who rotate in the kitchen each week during dinner service. Each week, contestants cook and serve four different dishes based on the head chef in charge: Classic Western Cuisine curated by Chef Willment Leong, Contemporary Thai Cuisine curated by Kwantip Devakula, Modern Western Cuisine managed by Pongtawat Chalermkittichai, and Asian food with a twist curated by Natawoot Thammaphan. The competition format largely follows the American version, inviting competitors from all professions with cooking experience, including culinary students and professional chefs. Contestants are divided into two teams: a red team for women and a blue team for men, wearing chef uniforms with shoulder panels of that color. Teams remain the same for most of the competition, but transfers can occur if the executive chefs decide the team numbers differ by two or more, or if working abilities are very uneven. In the Challenge round, each competitor or team cooks a dish based on the weekly Chef's Challenge theme within a set time, usually 45 minutes. Chefs judge each dish on a scale of 0 to 3 points per dish. The team or competitor with the highest total score wins prizes such as recreational activities outside Hell's Kitchen, while the losing team or competitor faces penalties, with both varying each week.
