Facts from the source article.
Plot
The story adapts several arcs from the One Piece manga, with the Wano Country arc significantly modified due to its incomplete status at release. Characters including Cavendish, Bartolomeo, Sabo, Smoker, Tashigi, and Kuzan help the Straw Hat Pirates free Luffy. After battles with Big Mom, Kaido, and Blackbeard, a final fight against a dragon-form Kaido ends with Luffy's victory and Kaido's flight.
Characters
The base game includes 43 playable characters, with 24 more via downloadable content for a total of 67. Returning characters from previous entries are present except Bartholomew Kuma, Caesar Clown, Gecko Moria, Magellan, and Perona. Newcomers to the series include Bartolomeo, Basil Hawkins, Carrot, Cavendish, Charlotte Katakuri, Charlotte Linlin, and others. DLC adds characters such as Charlotte Cracker, Charlotte Smoothie, Enel, Gol D. Roger, and Yamato.
Development
The game was announced at Anime Expo on July 5, 2019. On February 11, 2025, ports to PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S were announced alongside additional DLC decided by fan votes. Enel, King, and Z received the most votes and were added as playable characters. A Nintendo Switch 2 port was announced on September 13, 2025.
Reception
IGN's Mitchell Saltzman described the game as a great One Piece-flavored spin on the Musou genre with a deep roster and simple but fun combat. In its first week in Japan, the PlayStation 4 version sold 75,998 copies and the Switch version sold 61,571 copies. By December 2020, the game had sold over one million copies, making it the fastest entry in the series to reach that milestone.
