The Bills and Jets (then known as the Titans) played each other in the inaugural game for both franchises in 1960. In 1981, the teams played their only playoff game, the AFC wild card game, where the Bills led 24–0 early, the Jets cut the deficit to 31–24, and a late interception of Richard Todd sealed the win for the Bills.
