Deep Magic from Before Time
The ancient law the White Witch invokes to claim Edmund's life.
In The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe the White Witch parleys with Aslan and invokes the "Deep Magic from the Dawn of Time", which gives her the right to kill Edmund for his treason. Aslan speaks with her alone, and afterwards she renounces her claim on Edmund's life.

Lore & Background
That night the Witch kills Aslan on the Stone Table, as they had agreed in return for sparing Edmund. The next morning Aslan is brought back by the "Deeper Magic from before the Dawn of Time", which can reverse death when a willing victim takes a traitor's place.
