Juan Pierre
Speedy leadoff man on the 2003 champion Marlins.
Juan D'Vaughn Pierre, born August 14, 1977 in Mobile, Alabama, played outfield in the majors from 2000 to 2013 for six clubs, including two spells with the Marlins. His 614 steals ranked 18th all time when he retired.

Colorado picked him in the 13th round in 1998. Florida got him with Mike Hampton in a November trade for Charles Johnson, Preston Wilson, Vic Darensbourg and Pablo Ozuna, and he was a key part of the 2003 World Series run. Needing to cut payroll after failing to land a new stadium, the Marlins sent him to the Cubs on December 7, 2005 for Sergio Mitre, Ricky Nolasco and Renyel Pinto. He stole 167 bases as a Marlin in that first spell, came back on a one-year, $1.6 million deal in November 2012, and finished with a .295 average over 1,994 games. After working at MLB Network he joined Miami as minor league outfield coordinator in 2019.
