Martin Prado
Venezuelan utility star and 2010 All-Star who spent his late career in Miami.
Martín Manuel Prado Torcate, born October 27, 1983 in Maracay, Venezuela, played for the Braves, Diamondbacks, Yankees and Marlins. Mostly a third baseman, second baseman and left fielder, he started at every position except pitcher, catcher and center field.

Raised by a single mother with three siblings, he signed with Atlanta as an undrafted free agent in February 2001 and learned English from film subtitles. He debuted on April 23, 2006 and was a 2010 All-Star. The Yankees traded him and David Phelps to Miami on December 19, 2014 for Nathan Eovaldi, Garrett Jones and Domingo Germán. In September 2016 he signed a three-year, $40 million extension, and in the last game of that season the Marlins let him act as player-manager; he played three innings at third before taking himself out.
