Story

The great goddess Aika created the world of Arcan as a utopia. Her first race, the Scinic, were gentle but lacked purpose and begged for their existence to end; the goddess granted their wish. She then created humans, a balance of good and evil, but human ambition destroyed the land. Angered, Aika created the demonic Zereca to punish them, but the Zereca nearly drove humans to extinction. To save her second creation, she told the prophet Giovanni to gather his people in Lakia, which she lifted into the sky with her last strength. Exhausted, Aika fell into a deep slumber, weakening the Zereca. Three hundred years later, as she awakens, the Zereca regain power. In response, she creates the Aitan warrior class and the fairy-like Pran to serve them.

Nations

AIKA Online divides players into five nations: Alethius, Feonir, Lenaria, Vanov, and Ostyrion. Each nation has its own flag but shares the same map and quests. Players start nationless and become a citizen at level 10 by completing a quest. They can travel between nations via a rift in Rhawn Crossroads and may freely attack players from other nations. Legion (guild) masters can compete for the Lord Marshal position in the Castle Siege War every Saturday. The Lord Marshal's guild alliance becomes the Archon, with three Archon positions—Military, Judicial, and Treasury—each offering different benefits; the Lord Marshal receives all benefits. Allied players see a flag above their nickname and can use a teleport to the ally city Rehenschein. Each week a power nation is selected based on relic activity and cannot form alliances for one week, though de facto alliances may occur.
