Reception

A system penalizing players upon death, which could be prevented or reversed with Item Shop purchases, was removed in the EU and NA version on March 2, 2011, after the preventative item became free. By August 2012 the North American version removed Holy Charms and the death penalty itself. Cash shop prices were permanently lowered for many items a few weeks prior. Despite these changes, many considered Allods Online pay to win due to powerful runes and bonuses easily obtained via the Item Shop, leading to player departures. Later, pay-to-win mechanics were removed, and a currency exchanger allowed free players to exchange in-game gold for the premium currency blue crystals.

Soundtrack

The full symphonic soundtrack for the new version was recorded by the Central Symphony Orchestra of Russia's Defense Ministry and the Bolshoi Choir, conducted by Boris Tarakanov.
