Thanix
Turian ship weapons scaled down from Sovereign's main gun.
The Thanix series is a line of turian-designed weapons in Mass Effect used mainly in ship-to-ship combat. After the Battle of the Citadel in 2183 the turians secretly salvaged the main gun of the Reaper Sovereign, and eleven months later they introduced the Thanix as a scaled-down version of it. Its core is a liquid alloy of iron, uranium and tungsten suspended in an element zero-powered electromagnetic field, fired as molten metal at a significant fraction of the speed of light; small enough for fighters and frigates, it gives them firepower rivalling a cruiser's. In Mass Effect 2 the Normandy SR-2 can be upgraded with a pair of Thanix cannons.
