Rachni Queen

Rachni queens are the matriarchs of the insectoid, hive-minded rachni in Mass Effect. At around fifty feet long they are the largest of the species, and they direct their workers and soldiers through a telepathic 'song' that can also let them speak through other receptive beings. A queen inherits the genetic memory of her mother, so each new hive starts with the knowledge of the last, and she can lay large numbers of eggs in a short time.
