Lyza

Lyza the Annihilator, Riko's legendary mother.

Lyza is Riko's mother and one of the few Cave Raiders ever to reach the rank of White Whistle, under the title Lyza the Annihilator. She is presumed dead after taking her last descent into the Abyss ten years before the story.

Background

A former pupil of Ozen, she overcame many of the Abyss's hazards and also fought off raiding parties from foreign nations. Her White Whistle and pages of her notes later come up from the depths, with a message that appears to tell Riko she is waiting at the bottom. Riko's father, the Black Whistle Torka, is listed as dead.
