Vassalord

Vassalord is a josei manga created by Nanae Chrono, who handled both writing and illustration. It first ran in Comic Blade ZEBEL from 2004 to 2007, then moved to Monthly Comic Avarus, where it continued until its finale on February 15, 2013. Mag Garden compiled the chapters into seven tankōbon volumes, putting out the first on May 10, 2006, and the last on March 15, 2013. Frontier Works produced four drama CDs based on the series, and Production I.G adapted it into an OVA that shipped alongside the final manga volume.

The story follows a complicated bond between two vampires: Charles J. Chrishunds, a cyborg-vampire hybrid who works as a hunter for the Vatican, and his master Johnny Rayflo, a wealthy playboy. Charley struggles with his thirst for blood and his attraction to Johnny, while Johnny—formerly known as Addie before becoming a vampire—enjoys teasing his servant and grappling with his own past. Their feelings for each other are mutual, despite constant conflict.

Johnny Rayflo, also called Rayflo, is the Progenitor of vampires. He lives in a mansion with several vampire maids and was once known as "The Confined Elagabalus." He serves as Charley's blood source, since Charley refuses to drink human blood. Johnny often calls Charley "Cherry" and delights in provoking him. The two are in a relationship. Johnny also has a "twin" named Rayfell; together they are referred to as "Adam" and "Eve."

Charles J. Chrishunds, or Cherry, is a vampire-cyborg and a Vatican hunter. He refuses human blood, fights his own lust, and is fiercely possessive of Johnny. The two are romantically involved.

Rayfell is Johnny's supposed twin, though their exact relation is unclear. She looks and acts much like him, earning the twin label. A succubus, she lives with a young human nun named Cheryl. Rayfell loves cute things and enjoys teasing Cherry to provoke Rayflo. She was reportedly created from one of Rayflo's ribs. She is in a relationship with Cheryl but often betrays her, always regretting it afterward.

Cheryl Shane Kates is a young human nun who resembles Chris. She lives with Rayfell, is also a vampire hunter, and is in a romantic relationship with the succubus.

Barry is an incubus modeled after the demon that turned Rayflo. He hunts Rayflo as part of a "game" and can regenerate from fatal wounds. He has an unnatural fixation on Rayflo and constantly seeks him out.
