Lore & Background

Merlin's journey in The Golden Circle begins in chaos. After Charlie Hesketh's cybernetic arm hacks into the Kingsman database, missiles destroy the headquarters and wipe out the agents in Britain; Eggsy and Merlin survive. Following the destruction, Eggsy and Merlin reunite and travel to Statesman, a Kentucky-based agency posing as a Bourbon whiskey distillery. There, Merlin learns that Harry Hart survived his previous wounds thanks to Statesman's nanotechnology but has lost his memory. Working with Statesman's Ginger Ale, Merlin assists in curing Harry's amnesia. Later Harry, who suspects Whiskey of working against them, shoots him; Eggsy thinks Harry is delusional from his recovery and saves Whiskey with nanotechnology. At Poppy Land in Cambodia, Eggsy steps on a land mine and Merlin switches places with him, giving his own life.
