My Roomie Is a Dino was created by writer Moriko Mori and artist Cota Tomimura. The manga ran in Kodansha’s Weekly Young Magazine from October 2018 through January 2022, and the publisher released seven collected volumes between April 2019 and March 2022. Kodansha USA secured the English-language digital rights in March 2020. A combined anime and live-action TV adaptation was revealed in September 2019. The animated segments were co-produced by Space Neko Company and Kamikaze Douga, with Jun Aoki handling both direction and scriptwriting, and Gin composing the music. The live-action parts were written and directed by Kotaro Sudo, featuring gravure idol Nana Yashiro (also known as “8467”) as Kaede. The series debuted on Tokyo MX and BS11 on April 5, 2020. Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, episodes from the eighth onward were postponed starting May 12, 2020. On July 19, 2020, it was announced that both the anime and live-action portions would return in October. The show then rebroadcast from the first episode on October 4, 2020, resumed new episodes on November 22, and concluded on December 20. Funimation streamed the series in English-speaking territories under the title Gal & Dino, releasing an English dub on March 5, 2022. Jun Aoki wrote and directed every episode.
