Plot
In the original series, Comet is a student from the Beta Star who causes an accident at school, angering the principal, who banishes her to Earth to learn responsibility. There she lives with the Kawagoe and Ishihara families, using her magic to solve problems with guidance. The second series reimagines Comet as a student from the Virgo Star System on a study trip to find the most beautiful things on her chosen planet. The anime series presents Comet as a twelve-year-old princess and heir of the Harmonica Star country, one of three kingdoms in the Triangle Nebula. When the prince of the Tambourine Star country goes missing, Comet and her assistant Rubabou are sent to Earth to find him, guided only by the clue that he will be known by the twinkling in his eyes. She becomes a babysitter and friend to twins Tsuyoshi and Nene in the Fujiyoshi family, while Princess Meteor of the Castanet Star country also arrives on Earth, aiming to marry the prince first.
