Guardians of the Globe

The Guardians of the Globe are a superhero team published by Image Comics, appearing mainly in Invincible and its television adaptation, as well as in the Image Universe titles Brit, Noble Causes, Dynamo 5 and Guarding the Globe. The original team was a parody of DC's Justice League, with members such as Darkwing, War Woman, Aquarus, Red Rush, Green Ghost, Martian Man, Black Samson and the Immortal who stood in for Batman, Wonder Woman, Aquaman, the Flash, Green Lantern and Martian Manhunter. Early in the comic Omni-Man suddenly kills Earth's premier superhero team; on Cecil's orders, Robot then forms a new Guardians of the Globe from the Teen Team, newcomers like Monster Girl and the revived Immortal, who leads the team. Brit later became its leader and features heavily in the spin-offs Guarding the Globe and Invincible Universe.
