Dark Continent
The forbidden land beyond the known world, home of the Chimera Ants.
The Dark Continent is the forbidden landmass beyond the known world of Hunter x Hunter. The Chimera Ants, an invasive and quarantined insect species, originate there, and the world's five most powerful nations, the V5, treat it as a forsaken place.
Lore & Background
When Gon finally meets his father, Ging reveals that his own goal is to travel there. Isaac Netero's son Beyond later organises an expedition, backed by the Kingdom of Kakin, and after Isaac's death reveals himself publicly to assemble it against fierce opposition from the V5.
The Zodiacs chaperone the trip, Ging and Pariston join Beyond's side, and Leorio joins the Zodiacs as the Boar. Prince Woble of Kakin travels with Kurapika as her bodyguard, and the intelligence team prepares software to recognise any ancient languages found on the continent.
