Third Super Bomberman title with five-player battles.

Released in 1995 for the Super Nintendo, Super Bomberman 3 is the third game in its series and the third Bomberman title on that console. It supports up to five simultaneous players. The game launched in Japan and PAL territories, but skipped North America because Hudson Soft USA had shut down.

Super Bomberman 3 scales back many gameplay additions from Bomberman '94 and Super Bomberman 2, returning to the classic formula. Multiplayer adds more characters, each representing a country of Earth, including Pretty Bomber as France, marking her first appearance as a non-enemy character. New cutscenes appear in Story mode, which centers on the resurrection of the Five Dastardly Bombers from Super Bomberman 2. White Bomber and Black Bomber adventure across element-themed stars where the Five cause havoc under their creator Bagular. The graphics were simplified compared to the first two Super Bomberman games, resembling those of the PC Engine Bomberman titles. Most music consists of remixed versions of older Bomberman soundtracks. This was the first installment in the series allowing up to five players in Battle Mode, whereas the first two allowed only four.
