Story
Master Higgins and his wife Tina are caught in a storm during their honeymoon, which separates them. Higgins awakens with no memory. On the island, he discovers a king who found a girl with amnesia and planned to make her queen. After she is kidnapped, the king asks Higgins to rescue her. Higgins agrees, believing the girl might restore his lost memories.
Gameplay
Super Adventure Island II puts the player on a world map separated into different islands, each with items and equipment that can unlock areas on other islands. The player travels by raft on the sea, where random enemy encounters switch the perspective to a side-scroller. On islands or secret areas, the game switches to a side-scrolling view where the main gameplay occurs.
