Synopsis

George Martin, living in a regular neighbourhood with his family, applies for a job at the monopolistic Krach Industries. Though not intended to be hired, his application is accidentally blown into the selected pile. He becomes director of a secret orbital station called Operation SOS, where his family must live as part of a Krach experiment. On the station they meet other people sent by Krach, including their children's former teacher and her son. Later they rescue a Russian cosmonaut who joins them. The Martins continue living on the station, dealing with personal disputes, alien encounters, and Krach's monopolistic control.

Characters

George Martin, voiced by Mark Camacho, is the station director responsible for running it and switching between night and day. He denies extraterrestrial life even when faced with evidence, once believing a station takeover on his birthday was a role-playing adventure staged by his wife. Monica Martin, voiced by Ellen David, is George's wife who values household order and believes in aliens. Betty Martin, voiced by Eleanor Noble, is the teenage daughter, a manic depressive who enjoys music and misses contact with friends; she is hinted to be intelligent and occasionally shows compassion. Benjamin Martin, voiced by Daniel Brochu, is the plump son and a cosmic superhero fanatic fond of computers and technology; he once stole a comic and was sent to the station's prison, later regretting it. Gran, voiced by Sonja Ball, is George's mother and a fitness fanatic with an antagonistic relationship with Monica. Fax and Goodgrief, both voiced by Rick Jones, are the family's dog and cat who often discuss episode events and may be aliens themselves. Guy, dumped by Krach on the station, performs all work except George's duties; he is hinted to be a clone or brainwashed prototype worker. Mrs. Schuman, voiced by Susan Glover, is the children's neighbour and teacher on Earth and the station. Bobby Schuman, voiced by Ricky Mabe, maintains a friendly facade with adults but shows a sadistic, manipulative side with children, once bullying Benjamin discreetly on Earth; relations with Benjamin improved after Bobby was nearly abducted on the station.
