The Fading of Magic
The malaise of The Farthest Shore: magic fails and songs are forgotten.
In The Farthest Shore an ominous malaise spreads through Earthsea: magic is losing its power, songs are being forgotten, and people and animals are sickening or going mad.
Lore & Background
Ged and Arren find a drug-addled wizard, Hare, under the dream-spell of a mage who promises life after death at the cost of magic, identity and all names, and the island of Lorbanery has lost its magic of dyeing silk. The cause is Cob's breach between the worlds, which Ged closes in the Dry Land at the cost of his own power.
