Z Sword

A blade trapped in stone that holds the key to unlocking a warrior's hidden potential.

The Z Sword is a legendary sword kept on the Sacred World of the Kais in Dragon Ball Z. The Supreme Kai brings Gohan there to master it in order to defeat Majin Buu, and Gohan, using his Super Saiyan 2 strength, pulls it from its resting place.

Lore & Background

With Gohan growing more proficient with the sword, Goku tests its sharpness by throwing a metal cube at it, and the sword breaks. From the broken sword emerges Old Kai, the Supreme Kai of fifteen generations ago. Beerus is later revealed to be the one who sealed the Old Supreme Kai into the Z Sword.
