Lore & Background

In this level, Conker is transformed into a bat by his vampiric ancestor Count Batula in order to feed him the blood of a villager mob.

In Their Own Story

Conker, still hungover and lost, shambles up to the gates of a looming castle where a sign reads 'Count Batula's Castle—Enter if you dare.' Inside, a skeletal guard rattles off cryptic advice before crumbling into dust. Conker must collect keys, sidestep pitfalls, and batter the bat's minions—zombies and floating ghosts—through the courtyard, a dungeon maze, and the tower. In the final confrontation, the bat preens and monologues about his eternal reign, only for Conker to trick him into opening a window. Sunlight floods in, and the bat shrieks, fleeing in panic. Berri is rescued, but she promptly slaps Conker for his trouble, leaving him to stumble onward, no closer to home.

Reader's Guide

The player controls Conker through the enclosed area of Spooky. Gameplay involves completing a linear sequence of challenges, which may include defeating a boss, solving puzzles, gathering objects, and racing opponents. Context-sensitive pads grant temporary abilities such as turning Conker into an anvil or providing weapons like a shotgun, blow torch, throwing knives, or slingshot. Cash rewards aid access to other areas in the overworld.
