Lore & Background

The game follows Conker, a greedy, hard-drinking red squirrel who must return home to his girlfriend, Berri, after an evening of heavily drinking at the local pub. The setting is the Panther King's Kingdom. The plot involves Conker's quest to return home, his encounters with various characters, and a confrontation with the Panther King and his servant Professor Von Kriplespac.

In Their Own Story

The wind howls through the rigging of a battered galleon as Conker leans over the rail, his tail lashing against the salt spray. Below, the sea churns a deep, impossible turquoise, and somewhere out there past the next headland, the treasure he's been chasing since the bottle rolled off the pub floor is waiting. His crew—mismatched, bickering, half-asleep—shuffles through the deck. Conker snorts, cracks open a coconut, and points his cutlass at the horizon. "Right then. Let's go be terrible at this, shall we?" The ship lurches forward into the painted sunset, and the quest continues.

Reader's Guide

Most of the game requires the player to complete a linear sequence of challenges that involve jumping over obstacles, solving puzzles, and fighting enemies. The player controls Conker through three-dimensional levels, using abilities such as running, jumping, and smacking enemies with a frying pan. Context-sensitive pads grant temporary abilities. A multiplayer mode allows up to four players to compete in seven different game types: Beach, Raptor, Heist, War, Tank, Race, and Deathmatch.

• Conker's Bad Fur Day was originally intended for a family audience and was initially titled Twelve Tales: Conker 64.
• The game features graphic violence, alcohol and tobacco use, profanity, dark humour, toilet humour, fourth wall breaks, and pop culture references.
• A remake, Conker: Live & Reloaded, was released for the Xbox in 2005.
• The original version was included in the Rare Replay compilation for Xbox One in 2015.
