Background
The winter had begun with the trade of Matt Holliday to Oakland for Carlos Gonzalez, Huston Street and Greg Smith. Colorado could have won the division on the last weekend by sweeping the Dodgers but won only the first of the three games. The 715 runs the pitchers allowed were the fewest in a full Rockies season, and Tracy was named NL Manager of the Year. In the Division Series the Philadelphia Phillies, NL East champions, won three games to one; Gonzalez had 10 hits, tying the club record for an NLDS. The Rockies drew 2,665,080 fans.
