Card Evolution
Stronger evolved forms of existing cards.
Card Evolution, introduced in June 2023, gives some existing cards a stronger evolved form that appears after the card has been played enough times in a battle. A card placed in an Evolution slot evolves after a set number of cycles; with two cycles, for instance, every third play of that card is the evolved version. Each evolved card gains a special ability the original lacks, and some also get better stats.
Background
Card Evolution and the first Evolution slot unlock at Arena 3, and a Wild slot that can hold either an Evolution or a Hero opens at Arena 10. Using an Evolution in battle takes 6 Evolution Shards or Wild Shards, which come from shop offers, events, Special Challenges, Pass Royale and Lucky Chests.
