Julius Erving, affectionately known as "Dr. J", won two ABA championships with the New York Nets (1974 and 1976) and was named the ABA's MVP in both the 1973–74 and 1975–76 seasons.

Lore & Background
Erving was acquired by the Nets from the Virginia Squires in the 1973 off-season. He led the Nets to a franchise-record 55 wins and their first ABA title in 1974, then to the last ABA championship in 1976. He was voted the ABA's MVP in both championship seasons.
