The Farm (British TV series)

Celebrities compete to become Top Farmer on a real farm.

The Farm is the British version of the international TV format The Farm, produced by Strix. The show aired on Five for two series between 2004 and 2005, featuring celebrities living and working on a farm. After the second series, Five announced it would not air further series; a revamped version titled Celebs on the Farm premiered on 5Star in 2018.

Series 1 (2004)

Series one was announced in summer 2004 and aired from 26 September to 17 October 2004, presented and narrated by Ed Hall. It broadcast nightly at 10pm. The series caused controversy in October 2004 when Rebecca Loos was shown masturbating a pig and collecting a semen sample, drawing outrage from the RSPCA. The winner, decided by viewers' votes, was Jeff Brazier.

Ratings

The first episode drew 1.16 million viewers, and the first series averaged 1.4 million in its 10pm slot. Viewership increased after the Rebecca Loos incident, and the series one finale peaked at nearly 2.3 million viewers with a 15.2% audience share. The second series began in May 2005 at 10.30pm, with its first episode taking 1.17 million viewers and a 9.2% share. The second series averaged 1.19 million viewers, lower than the first.
