Series 6 (2021)

The sixth series adopted the Australian format after the success of that version. Eight couples were matched across five episodes: Bob and Megan, Ant and Nikita in Episode 1; Matt and Dan, Luke and Morag in Episode 2; Josh and Amy, Franky and Marilyse in Episode 4; Adam and Tayah, Jordon and Alexis in Episode 5. The series began on 30 August 2021. The scheduled final on 30 September was postponed due to technical problems and aired the following day. Official 28-day consolidated ratings from BARB include E4+1 and catch-up totals. A special aftershow aired Thursdays at 10 pm after the week's final episode.

Series 7 (2022)

An extended thirty-episode version using the same format was commissioned. The cast included two same-sex couples, one male and one female. Two couples were matched in each of Episodes 1, 2, 4 and 5; two additional couples joined in Episode 12, a franchise first. The series began on 29 August 2022, preceded by a 'One Year Later' special with Series 6 cast members. Dinner Parties and Commitment Ceremonies moved from Brighton to Trinity Quay Wharf in London's Docklands. Official 7-day consolidated ratings from Thinkbox include E4+1; 28-day device viewership is no longer available. The 'One Year On' special consolidated to 729,000 viewers. The aftershow was rebranded as 'Unveiled'.

Series 8 (2023)

A thirty-six episode run of the show began on 18 September 2023. It featured the series' first transgender bride, Ella Morgan Clark, and its first bride with a limb deficiency, Jay. Two couples married in episodes 1, 2, 4, and 5, two more in episode 12, and the final two weddings took place in episodes 17 and 18. Official seven-day consolidated ratings from Thinkbox include E4+1 but not device viewership.

Allegations of sexual misconduct and Panorama investigation

In May 2026, Panorama aired 'The Dark Side of Married at First Sight' after two brides alleged they were raped during filming and a third alleged a non-consensual sex act. Channel 4 removed all episodes from streaming and linear services and social media channels. Channel 4's outgoing chief content officer Ian Katz said he had not seen the documentary and would respond after viewing. CEO Priya Dogra said she was 'deeply sorry'. TUI ended its sponsorship. The Culture, Media and Sport Committee wrote to Channel 4 and Ofcom. The Metropolitan Police appealed for anyone with allegations of abuse during the show to come forward.
