Pi2 Columbae
A white-hued multiple star system in Columba with an X-ray emitting primary.
Pi2 Columbae is a multiple star system in the southern constellation Columba, near the border with Pictor. It has a combined apparent visual magnitude of 5.50 and is located about 256 light-years from the Sun, receding with a heliocentric radial velocity of +31 km/s. The primary is an A-type main-sequence star of spectral class A0 V, and the system is an unusual source of X-ray emission for an A-type star.
